“Blessed are You, Lord our God, King of the Universe, who has sanctified us with His commandments and commanded us to count the omer: Tonight will be the 44th night of the Omer, which is Six Weeks, and two days.
Day 44 Psalm 119: 169-176
169 Let my cry come before you, Adonai; in keeping with your word, give me understanding.
170 Let my prayer come before you; in keeping with your promise, rescue me.
171 Let my lips speak praise, because you teach me your laws.
172 Let my tongue sing of your promise, because all your mitzvoth (commandments) are righteous.
173 Let your hand be ready to help me, because I choose your precepts.
174 I long for your deliverance, Adonai; and your Torah is my delight.
175 Let me live, and I will praise you; let your rulings help me.
176 I strayed like a lost sheep; seek out your servant; for I do not forget your mitzvot (commandments).
Meditation Day 44 “Preparing to Give”
We are coming up to Shavout the counting of the Omer is honored each day. This season was during the first fruit or first harvest of the season. The sheafs or omer offering was gathered each day to collect to bring as an offering to YHWH our God as a new grain offering. According to Leviticus 23:15-16, we are to be mindful of our blessed state each day and retrieve an offering for each day. The offering was gathered from each of the 49 days and given to the priest to wave before YHWH our God. Certainly, we are not waving actual omers but, we have counted the thorns and pricks that cause us to stumble in honoring YHWH’s Torah. Those things that cause us to stumble in our relationship with others are blocking our relationship with YHWH.
The closer we get to the completeness of gathering our offering from our hearts we look for huge things to fall off, that w are presented as a new offering before Him. YHWH will not fill you with new wine standing before him with the old wine skins. As we learn to shed the shell of our skins as a caterpillar transforms to the butterfly, the burden that kept you crawling at the lowest point is the one that developed humility in your character. The butterfly is formed and shaped by humility so now, my sister and brother, prepare for YHWH to elevate you and bless you with the beauty that he created through your pain, anguish, instances and struggle. Prepare for your new wine giving away the old man, and receiving your butterfly wings and new wine skins in six days counting up on this 44th day to Shavout (Pentecost).
Loving you enough to share the truth,
